Advantages of Indian Sandstone Paving

Rob Byrne - Friday, December 28, 2012

More and more people are turning away from the traditional patio or porch materials such as wood and to stone tiles. Indian sandstone paving is growing in popularity in the UK as a cheaper alternative to the traditional Yorkshire stone. It is durable, is available in a wide variety of colours and can be laid in an assortment of patterns to compliment your garden and home. We provide lots of different patterns for you to choose from, or you could design your own! It is easy to install and also to replace if needs be. It is visually striking and can be used both indoors and out.

An alternative to using Indian sandstone paving is to go with slate tiles. Again, they are very durable and hardwearing - perfect for paving your patios or paths with. They fit into any type of garden whether it be contemporary or the more traditional. Slate tiles are really low maintenance, with most dirt being washed off in the rain. Any remaining dirt can be hosed off, keeping your slates sparkling like new.

Travertine tiles are also perfect for using outside, especially if you’re lucky enough to have a pool as they are non-slip and durable against the weather. They remain cool underfoot even when it is hot. The colours do not fade and no discolouration occurs like in man-made materials. Again, they require little or no maintenance and cleaning. If you’re looking for a change in your garden, big or small, then an attractive stone patio or path could be the answer.
